AI-Assisted Dog Training Consultation
EXPERIENCE STRATEGY · SOLUTION CONCEPT
Academic Project · Individual · Graduate · Summer 2026
Project Overview
I developed a conceptual AI-assisted consultation process designed to improve the intake experience for dog-training services. Inspired by my own experience seeking behavioral training, the project explored how technology could collect more useful information before an appointment while creating a more efficient and informed experience for both pet owners and trainers.
My Contributions
Researched the existing consultation experience: Researched existing dog-training consultation forms and identified opportunities to improve how information about behavior, environment, triggers, routines, and training history is collected before an appointment.
Conceptualized an adaptive pre-consultation experience: Designed an adaptive pre-consultation concept using natural language processing and rule-based logic to organize owner responses into behavioral categories and generate a concise summary for trainer review.
Evaluated the solution from user and business perspectives: Developed the strategy from both customer and business perspectives, considering user experience, implementation, business value, data sourcing, governance, privacy, ethics, and safeguarding.
Key Deliverables
Conceptualized an AI-assisted pre-consultation experience that guides dog owners through adaptive questions about behavior, environment, triggers, routines, and training history.
Mapped how owner responses could be organized into behavioral categories and transformed into a concise pre-consultation summary for trainer review.
Developed an implementation approach addressing business value, data sourcing, governance, privacy, ethics, safeguarding, and the limitations of AI-assisted behavioral assessment.
