Project Overview
I researched and produced a podcast episode exploring whether it is ethical for companies to use consumer data for targeted advertising when many consumers do not fully understand how their information is collected, shared, and used. Rather than advocating for one position, the episode examines both the value of personalized advertising and the ethical responsibilities surrounding its use.
My Contributions
Researched the ethical implications of targeted advertising: Researched academic and industry perspectives on targeted advertising, consumer privacy, bias, transparency, data governance, and corporate responsibility.
Synthesized competing perspectives into an accessible narrative: Synthesized competing perspectives into an accessible script that examined both the benefits and risks of targeted advertising while encouraging listeners to consider the ethical tradeoffs.
Produced the final podcast and visual identity: Wrote, recorded, and edited the episode in Adobe Premiere Pro and developed the podcast's visual concept and AI-assisted cover artwork.
