Vaping PSA
CREATIVE DIRECTION · VIDEO PRODUCTION
Academic Project · Team Project · Undergraduate · Fall 2024
Project Overview
For a class PSA assignment, I developed and produced a short-form video addressing vaping through a narrative concept designed to communicate the message visually and emotionally. I developed the concept from initial idea through production, writing the script and storyboard, directing and filming the video, and shaping the final sound and edit.
My Contributions
Developed the concept and pre-production materials: Created the original PSA concept and translated it into a script and storyboard that established the narrative, visual direction, pacing, and intended message before filming.
Directed and filmed the production: Directed the actress and personally filmed the video, making creative decisions around performance, composition, shots, and how the scripted concept would translate to screen.
Shaped the final audiovisual story: Edited the sound and completed the final revision of the assembled video, refining the existing scene edit to create a cohesive finished PSA aligned with the original creative direction.
Key Deliverables
Developed the central concept and narrative approach for a short-form anti-vaping PSA designed to communicate its message through visual and emotional storytelling.
Wrote the script and created the storyboard to establish the narrative structure, scenes, shot progression, and overall direction before filming.
Directed and filmed the PSA and refined the final video through sound editing and revisions to the assembled footage.
